Lovely location in very attractive village of Santa Pau. Great views from garden. Handy for walking in La Garrontxa and also handy for our onward trip to Costa Brava.

We explored the mesmerizing volcanic landscapes and scenic trails of the nearby Nature Reserve, immersing ourselves in the rugged beauty of the area. The hotel's central location in the idyllic town of Santa Pau made it easy for us to venture out and discover this stunning region. The spacious rooms were beautifully decorated with antique furnishings and artwork, creating a charming and cozy atmosphere. We enjoyed the abundance of amenities provided, including the large TV, reliable Wi-Fi, and ample storage space. The friendly staff made us feel at home, and the breakfast spread filled us with delight each morning. Our experience in Cal Sastre and the Garrotxa region will hold a special place in our hearts for years to come.

For dads, it would be great to have a dedicated play area for children.

Quirky, but so relaxing! After the hustle and bustle of the city, it was a breath of fresh air to stay at this charming hotel in a medieval village. The rooms were comfortable and quiet, with stunning views of the mountains. The breakfast was substantial, setting us up for the day ahead. We particularly enjoyed lounging on the lawns, taking in the peaceful surroundings. The staff were friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. Plus, the hotel is located in a great area for walking and exploring. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderfully romantic stay at Cal Sastre, where Eva and Jesus welcomed us like old friends. Jesus's delicious meals at the adjoining restaurant were a highlight, especially the fesoles de Santa Pau and homemade rataffia digestif. The hotel's location is perfect for exploring the volcanic area and waterfalls. The friendly and attentive staff made us feel right at home. What a dynamic duo Eva and Jesus are!

Terrible wifi, almost non-existent, don't expect to use it. Noise from the street could be heard loudly in some rooms making it difficult to sleep at night.

The restaurant on-site is convenient for guests, though some previous diners have reported dissatisfaction with the food. The rooms are quaint and comfortable with adequate facilities like central heating.

Conveniently located near great foodie spots and the town's attractions. Exceptionally clean with noticeable attention to detail.

Only downside was the off-peak season; some parts of the town were shut and it was challenging to find open activities.
